  • In a move towards encouraging higher studies, Bank is setting up Andhra Bank School of Business in the campus of Andhra University, Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh).

The Bank along with Government of Andhra Pradesh, NABARD and other select banks sponsored the Andhra Pradesh Bankers / Institute of Rural & Entrepreneurship Development (APBIRED), which will offer training to unemployed youth for improving their skills. This is located at Hyderabad. The Bank is also making donations to charitable trusts and other institutions engaged in the upliftment of the society. During 2007-08, an amount of Rs. 2.14 crore was donated to 9 such trusts / institutions.
  • As per Karmayog.org research work they ranked Andhra Bank as No. 3 organization out of top organizations with regard to corporate social responsibility. As per 2007-2008 details the Andhra Bank with regard to corporate responsibility can be mentioned as below:

    Sales (2007-2008) = Rs.4300 crores (rounded off)
Net profit after tax = Rs.580 crores (rounded off)
    CSR Budget: 7.64 cr.

    Conclusion

The future potential of markets do not lie with the wealthy few or the emerging middle class consumers but the billions of aspiring poor across the world. If the initiatives taken by the business community do not succeed in creating purchasing power for the millions and improving their living standards, it is unlikely that their brands will be brought by millions. So, it's extremely important that corporate incorporate the social agenda in all their business and marketing campaigns to create a sustainable and profitable world class institution.
