Marketing on Web: Issues & Challenges

Web marketing is the marketing of products or services over Internet. It distributes information of products to the global customers at low cost. It ties together creative and technical aspects of the Internet, including design, development, advertising, and sales.
Online marketing is a very dynamic, fast changing field, and there are many issues and challenges to marketing on the web.

According to a recent survey, the main issues of people trying to market their business online are: -

  • Converting Leads to Sales

  • Managing an Online Marketing System

  • Prioritizing Time, Energy and Money for Best Results

  • Pay Per Click (PPC) Marketing

  • Strategic Link Building

  • Newsletters and Viral / Buzz Marketing

    Another important issue of online marketing is ensuring that the customer is always satisfied. It is often difficult to facilitate excellent customer communication via the Internet.

    The biggest challenge while marketing on web is learning which marketing strategies really work, or just as importantly, which don't, because your web marketing strategy can make or break you. Attracting the right customers to the site, and keeping them coming back, at the same time, also turning a profit, is also another challenge. One of the barriers is that it requires customers to use new technologies rather than traditional media. Low-speed Internet connections are another barrier. The real challenge is to set everything up in the self-imposed time restrictions. Many companies simply do not manage to get enough users to visit their sites. There is a lot of competition on the Internet already, and so you must be up-to-date with the developments.

    Effective web marketing requires a comprehensive strategy that synergizes a given company's business model and sales goals with its website function and appearance. If well-planned, well-deployed and well-managed, your web marketing activity will help you to meet your objectives in a cost-effective and measurable fashion.
