Executive Goal Definition
Defining and understanding the executive's change objectives is the first, and very critical, phase of BPT methodology. This phase sets the stage to define the Business Process change - change that transforms the business.
In this stage, Process Architects will initiate the activities that begin in this phase as the work completed here is essential to understand the magnitude, nature, drivers and scope of the change needed.
This phase focuses on understanding the need for change and the type of change that must be achieved to transform a given business area. Work in this phase focuses on fact-finding interviews with the business process stakeholders. The goal is to define the results desired and the nature and objectives of the change.
Current Process State Analysis
After the objectives of the BPT effort are identified, analysis of the current state of Business Processes is performed. This phase provides the Business Transformation Team with the necessary background of the current state business processes and any significant enabling technologies.
This phase identifies the primary pain-points and key transformation areas within the processes to better understand where the most attention should be paid when developing the new processes.
