    The Benefits

Security often comes as remedial measure or as an after-thought, and not as a preventive measure. SSE-CMM helps in reducing business risks and containing costs due to lapses in security. It helps in building robust, secure processes, which ensure Continuity in maintaining knowledge acquired in previous efforts, to be used in future efforts. In ensuring Repeatability so that products, service processes can deliver the same level of quality. In helping the workforce work more Efficiently and delivering the customers an Assurance of the level of security associated with the product or service being offered.

Will the Giant Arise from its Slumber?

The service industry needs to get its act together in order to retain the growth prospects that it currently enjoys. Apart from the focus on process improvement in the operations, one must also focus on other critical aspects of workflow like security to strike a harmonious balance between quality, efficiency and productivity. Embracing a standard like SSE-CMM is a step in this direction, are we ready to walk the line yet?
