Abstract

Organized Retailing is one of the booming industries in India as well as World. All the multinational companies are coming with huge investment by trying to give all products under one roof. Its sometime creates difficulties for customers in finding out the right product at right time.
To solve this problem retail industry can use Bluetooth for retail advertising as well as for searching goods from a super market within a few seconds. In this article we will discuss about Bluetooth and its effectiveness in retail industry.

Introduction

India is one the most targeted country for the retail world and global retailers are trying to enter into the Indian retail market. The market is growing at a steady rate of 11-12 percent and accounts for around 10 percent of the countries GDP and 8 percent of employment. The expected investment in the next 2-3 years will be Rs. 20-25 billion and over Rs. 200 billion by end of 2010. Indian retail market is considered to be the second largest in the world in terms of growth potential. Last decade only a few competitors were there. But due to high growth rate so many companies (i.e, Wall Mart, Reliance, Tata) are coming with huge investment. All multinational companies are trying to give all products under one roof. But sometimes it creates a problem to find out right product at right time. Because, now a day's most of the people are too busy in their profession. They don't have enough time to do marketing. Sometime some customers ask very specific product. But when he goes to purchase it in a supermarket it is really difficult to find out where it is available. To solve this problem retail industry can use Bluetooth for retail advertising as well as for searching goods from a super market within a few seconds. It will also be a cheapest way to do advertising. Retail industry also can use that Bluetooth technology for different purpose. They can use it for sales promotion activities. They can also use it for internal communication.

Bluetooth and its Features

Bluetooth is one type of wireless electronics device, which can connect two and more than two devices at one time without any wire. The main features of Bluetooth technology are robustness, low power, and low cost. The Bluetooth specification defines a uniform structure for a wide range of devices to connect and communicate with each other.
