  • 49% of respondents approach IIL services, 28% respondents are clients of India Bulls, 23% of respondents are clients of Sharekhan consultancy services

  • 79% of respondents are aware of IIL stock broking services, 21% are having awareness about other stock broking services

  • 71% of respondents taken for the study have DMAT A/C and 20% of respondents do not have DMAT A/C

  • 26% of respondents are doing online trading, most of the investors do not have the knowledge about the computers and internet and broad band facility. Hence, most of the investors are not doing online trading

  • 54% of respondents felt that IIL services are good, 66% of respondents felt that their services are fair and almost all respondents expressed their satisfaction with regard to the services of the IIL Hyderabad

  • 34% of respondents felt that IIL need to improve customers satisfaction, 29% of respondents suggested improve service quality. 21% of respondents suggested reduction in brokerage charges

  • Conclusion

    In the advent of Information and computer Technology growth, online stock trading services have gained impetus. But in a vast country like India, there are many people below the poverty line and they do not have sufficient income to invest. Illiteracy, lack of computer education, lack of faith in online trading are some major problems causing slow growth in online stock broking services. More and more user-friendly internet stock trading software are required to enable every investor to do online stock trading confidently.

    Dr. V. V. S. K. Prasad holds B.Com. from Andhra University, M.Com. (Accounting & Finance) from Acharya Nagarjuna University and MBA (Finance) from Ambedkar Open University. He also finished his Doctoral Research on "Leadership Styles & Organizational Effectiveness" from Ranchi University in 1992. Since then, he has been in teaching profession. He is currently serving as Professor MBA at The Hindu College, Machilipatnam.
