  • It is required to provide information to the public during the disaster to help out the victims. This can be provided with the help of a media, website or some public awareness system. Some of the important information includes: -
         * Contact List Of Emergency Services Centers
         * Precautionary Measures During Disaster
         * Forecasts about disaster, Areas prone to disaster
         * News and Updates

  • 5. Conclusion

    Disasters from the past have clearly exposed the inabilities of the relief organizations to provide proper assistance to the impacted areas. It is now clear that hospitals and relief organizations must carefully develop a collaborative supply chain management (SCM) strategy and infrastructure to ensure essential provisions are available during a disaster. The paper is mainly concerned with the prioritization of DSREs and securing warehouses locations along with some insights into information management and logistics planning. It is hoped the 5 - STEP FRAMEWORK presented in the paper will do its share in helping supply chains become better prepared for the next emergency.

    Concluded.
