We have also shown the current practices employed and status of GSCM on the world wide basis. There are many factors which affect the supply chain like business practices application of new emerging technologies, E-business, etc. Out of those, we will try to cover the importance and role of new emerging technologies in developing and improving the GSCM.
In this paper, we have focused on WEB-BASED GSCM management and application of RFID (Radio frequency identification) in improving the performance of supply chain and enhancing range and scope of its functions.

We discussed an agility model and its performance measurement criterion in this paper, which mainly describes the flexibility and time required to adapt the changes in the various components of supply chain. Finally, the threats from the inefficient supply chains are discussed.

WHAT IS GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAIN

According to the Council of Logistics Management, global supply chain management is the process of planning, implementing and controlling the efficient, effective flow and storage of goods, services and related information from the point of origin to the point of consumption in order to meet customers' requirements on a worldwide scale. In other words, global supply chain management is the process of understanding and integrating the existing business activities along the value chain, with a view to improving them, while extracting efficiencies from different functional and geographic areas in order to create value for the end customer.

"A commercially expedient supply structure to manage the complex requirements for materials and logistics so as to minimize risk and provide sustainable competitive solutions."

In particular, the global supply chain management (GSCM) approach can be thought of as a combination of supply chain management and global manufacturing.
