  1. General Questions
  2. Questions related to Pre-MBA Preparation
  3. Questions related to Group Discussion / Group Exercise
  4. Interview-related Questions
  5. After Joining MBA

Q. Were you able to get the school of your choice or did you compromise and opted for the best option that was open/available to you?
A. My school of choice would be one of the IIMs. The best option that was available to me at that time was TAPMI and I feel I have made the best choice.

Q. Did work experience help in getting the choice of your school and also in dealing with the curriculum?
A. Work experience definitely is an advantage. But it is not the sole determining factor for admission since there are other factors such as entrance exam, previous achievements, etc. In dealing with the curriculum, it is more about what kind of industry one has worked in. In that way, when there is a good mix of students in the college, the learning from various industries are brought under one place, so that has definitely helped me see the practical side of management.

Q. After joining the school, did you ever wish that you should have known certain more things about the school before you became part of it? What are these ?
A. I had not known much about the various activities in the college. I had known the programme is rigorous, but only now when am going through the rigor am able to see that we are pushed to our limits to identify our own strengths and weaknesses.

Q. What is the toughest area to handle in your studies?
A. Since I am from an Engineering background I feel financial areas are tougher to handle.

Q. Which one is your best subject?
A. Quantitative Techniques and Statistics.

Q. Is there stress level during studies?
A. Yes, since understanding concepts is vital.

Q. Who is the best faculty at your B-school?
A. There are very good faculty in each of the streams, finance, marketing, operations, hr and systems who are specialized in their own fields. Our Director Dr. Saji Gopinath is the best in his area which is Operations.

Q. What's the best and most admirable feature of your institute?
A. The best and most admirable features are its new campus in a scenic landscape, the infrastructure, new hostels, faculty with rich industry experience and a varied student mix.

Q. Scope of development in your existing curriculum.
A. In the current PGDM course, none as of now. Moreover, TAPMI is offering 3 new courses to cater to different industry needs and student preferences.

Q. Getting into and sailing through a B-school is easier for a Science graduate than for someone from Humanities background. Your comments, please.
A. I do not agree with this. It definitely depends on the individual's interest to learn. It's not easy even for a Science graduate or an Engineer, if he is not interested and who is not willing to learn. The first term in our b-school addresses this aspect, since everyone is taken through the basics, so that everyone is on the same plane.

Q. Tips for those who wish to do MBA from your school.
A. 1. Stay confident and come prepared for GDs and interviews.
    2. Be prepared to go through a very tough schedule in the new hi-tech campus!

Concluded.
