Q. What was your first step to start preparation for getting into the B-school of your choice?
A. My first step was to get acquainted with the entrance exam CAT and then I shortlisted the colleges and courses I wanted to apply for.

Q. When did you start your preparation?
A. I started my preparation about 3 months before the exam. I had given CAT even the previous year, so I had some basics already worked out.

Q. How many months and how many hours daily did you devote for preparation to entrance procedures?
A. So I spent nearly 2 hours everyday for preparation and during weekends about 4 hours.

Q. Did you take up some coaching institute or you believed in self-study?
A. As I was working, I could not join a coaching institute per say. I took the mock CAT test series.

Q. What was your experience with coaching?
A. Test series had no class room coaching. I was able to identify and improve on my concepts based on the tests by myself.

Q. What are the others books and tests that you used for your MBA preparation, besides the study material provided by you coaching institute?
A. I had followed 'Quantitative Aptitude for CAT', by Arun Sharma, 'Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning', by Arun Sharma.

Q. Can you tell us which are your favorite books, books that you used for preparing for entrance, books for self-development and books for pure relaxation?
A. Books for self relaxation were mostly novels like Jeffrey Archer, Dan Brown. I also went through Competition Success Review

Q. What were your strongest and weakest area while preparing for MBA?
A. I would say on a relative basis, I was more comfortable with Verbal and DI than Quants.

Q. Some tips which you used for mastering Quantitative Aptitude, Reading Comprehension, etc.
A. For reading comprehension, I used to read newspapers and magazines regularly. For quantitative aptitude I went practiced all the previous years' CAT question papers.

Q. How much time did you put for MBA preparation everyday? In case you were working, how did you manage this preparation while working full time?
A. I spent nearly 2 hours everyday for preparation and during weekends about 4 hours. Since I was working, I could study only in the night in the weekdays. I prepared for GD and Interviews only after my CAT exam during the weekends.

Q. Which all Exams and B-schools you applied to?
A. CAT, JMET, XAT, XLRI PGDM, XIMB, SP Jain, TAPMI and Great Lakes.

Q. Your present B-school and programme. What made you opt or this particular institute and programme?
A. TAPMI - PGDM. TAPMI is a well known institution with very good senior faculty, all of whom have had rich industry experience. There is a good mix of academic rigor and extra- curricular activities, a unique summer internship programme and also a good placement record. I had also interacted with alumni which helped me get the real picture.

Q. What procedures your school has for admission to its MBA program?
A. My b-school uses CAT as written test, followed by Group Discussion, Essay-Writing and Interview.

Q. What is the range of score for students who are admitted in your B-school?
A. This figure changes every year. Last year it was 92%ile and above in CAT for PGDM. We have students in my batch who have CAT scores upto 99%ile.

Q. Give some handy tips regarding the MBA written tests that would be of great help to MBA aspirants.
A. 1. Relax before and during the exam, when you are tensed your performance gets affected in a big way.
2. Do practice a lot by taking tests, especially practice all the previous years' CAT papers
