Placement 2001

The Final Placement Week starts on the 6th of February, 2001. Some of the recruiters this year are Accenture, Arthur Andersen, TSMG, KSA Technopak and KPMG; Banks and FIs, like Citibank, HSBC, Deutsche Bank, ICICI, I-Sec, SBI Capital Markets and Kotak Group; IT companies, like i2 Technologies, Infosys, HCL Technologies, Wipro, Aditi Talisma, Planetasia, NIIT, Arkin Systems; FMCGs, like HLL, Smithkline Beecham, Nestle, Britannia, Pepsi and Gillette; Venture Capitalists, like Edelweiss Capital.

Summer Placement Week was also a big success.

Although Bajaj has always had a great list of recruiters as far as summers internship programme goes, this year has been a pathbreaker in terms of the speed at which students got placed.

With placement rules inviting companies to make spot offers to students, companies wasted no time and within half an hour 45 students were placed on slot 1.

Banks especially, were bullish picking up students at a frenetic pace.

Top recruiters among the banking and finance companies were Citibank, HSBC, Deutsche Bank, GE Capital, ICICI, I-Sec, Templeton, IDFC, IL&FS, Crisil, Birla Sunlife AMC and EXIM Bank.

Among themselves, banks and financial institutions picked up about 30% of the batch.

The FMCGs, not to be left far behind, also made plenty of offers. While HLL made its way across the street, others came from all over the country. Top FMCGs on campus were HLL, SKB, Pepsi, Gillette, Colgate Palmolive, Reckitt Benckiser, Marico, Godrej Soaps, Pidilite,

In addition to these above companies, which accounted for more than half the batch, this year was also historic as Arthur Andersen made its first appearance for the summer internship programme, along with Express tower neighbour Andersen Consulting (Accenture).

i2 Technologies, Wipro, NIIT, Mphasis headlined the IT companies which have been increasing their presence on campus over the last few years.

Venture Capitalists, Walden Group and Edelweiss Capital, were also there on campus to truly make summer placements 2000 on Bajaj the best ever.

Jamnalal Bajaj continues its great tradition of not only providing a great training ground for the future managers of the country but also sending its students in the summer to undoubtedly the best training companies in the country.
